Why Trump Is Routing the Free Traders

Why Trump Is Routing the Free Traders

comment:

Why does "free trade" work?  It doesn't, but cheap money can make it appear to work.  It pumps up the stock market and stock holders get the "wealth effect".  This seems to bolster the economy, but the debt grows faster than the wealth.  It is all smoke and mirrors.

We're at a curious point.  On the one hand, the claim is that the economy is booming, but on the other hand, the Fed cannot normalize interest rates because the economy is too weak.

We are being played.  Wake up.

The right to keep and bear arms is connected to militia.  Let a militia man get the list and vet it for anybody on it who cannot be a militia man should not be able to purchase a gun.

In other words, don't let it be a government appartachick who decides who can get guns.  A militia man is not regular army nor a government employee.  However, the government does have the power to regulate militias.  Naming the officers is one power.  If that officer, in the militia, gets the list; he can decide if the no-fly no-gun rule goes into effect.

The madness gains steam

So-called "transgenders" can now serve in the military.  When the country was more sane than it is now, these people were considered crazy.  I think the old way is better.  If you have a penis, you are a man.  If you have a vagina, then you are woman.  If don't know what your sex is, then you are crazy as batshit.  You don't belong behind a trigger.

Generals are vetted for their belief in a science that isn't science.  They call it science, but it is a religion.  If the law were to be enforced correctly, this would be an Establishment of Religion, thus making it illegal under the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

What's behind this nuttiness?  Its all the same to me, which is to say that it is globalism.  The globalists are not only erasing borders, but are overthrowing long held customs and moral standards.  This is nothing less than a bloodless coup if it is allowed.

Money runs this show, meaning that it is corporations.  Corporatism and globalism run hand in hand.  That's why the freak show is so well supported in corporate board rooms.

Hillary must not become president, but the Democrats are going to run a globalist no matter who runs.

That leaves Trump.

Information mining

One of the things I managed to do yesterday.  I found a couple of websites with people who have land out where I have mine.

  • Sierra Blanca, Texas blog  --- currently over a hundred comments
  • Facebook page

What I wanted to know is where to get water.  I know one of the neighbors was getting water one day from somewhere, but I neglected to ask where he was getting his water.  Evidently, there is a place in town to get the water, but I didn't see where it was.  Still don't have an address or name of the place, but I do know that there is such a place.

The paperwork for getting a permit for a septic system will require a disclosure of where you are getting your water.  I can fill that info in when I get the name of the establishment that sells the water.

There is someone on that page mentioned who says he can drill water wells.  He may be willing to do it cheap.  Not only that, there is a company that can evaluate your land for its water well potential.  My understanding up to this point was that a water well was not feasible, but that may not be correct.  It may be another thing to consider.

Most people out there dig out tanks and let rainwater runoff fill them up.  It may be possible to do something like that on my land.  The downside to that idea is that it will silt up, as the water brings dirt along with it.

Also downloaded a Hudspeth county soil survey from the Feds.  It is a ton of information, but it needs a decoder ring to figure it all out.  Enough here to keep you busy for a long, long time.  Trouble is, I don't have time for that.  Besides, I have done my own soil survey on the land, and I know about what I am dealing with.

Still don't like the idea of a septic tank.  It is crazy.  Even if I manage to get a well dug for not that much money, it is still a waste of water.  Nobody is going to use 70 gallons a day of water out there.  It is nuts.  If you dig out a septic tank, you will need heavy equipment.  I don't like that idea at all.

That's why I am considering just a carport and a small shack.  The shack will only be big enough for the incinerating toilet.  Just sleep in the van under the carport.

People will think that is crazy.  Well, yeah.  Going out to a place like that is crazy from the start.  Might as well go the whole hog.

I want to put this into my off-the-grid series, so it will go into the general subseries section.  Come to think of it, try this:

This post will go into the Construction sub-series of the off-the-grid main series of posts.  These posts can be accessed from a table of contents and watched individually or in series from beginning to end.

That was an easier way of doing it, which I like.

Weird day

When it rains, it pours.  After getting my car fixed, everything seemed to be getting back to normal.  Right?  Wrong!  Now my Android phone is going nuts on me.  Without it, I can't work.  Need it for work, doggone it.  One more thing for the list.

The reason for the depression out there

With respect to the Presidential race, it seems that in certain circles, GOP types are anguishing over  the polls, which show Trump behind.

It might help a bit if they would get their arses in gear and support the nominee.  It is a self-fulfilling prophecy, or it an event wished for, but not to be spoken.  The real wish is for Trump to be defeated because he isn't their kind of guy.

So, they have to pretend to be upset about Hillary.  If they were truly upset about her winning, why not get on board and work for a victory instead?  But no.

What these people do not grasp is that this is an issue of nationalism v. globalism.  Globalism seeks to blot out national differences.  If such were to happen to America, then there wouldn't be any difference between this country and any other country.  Do these people really want that?

The arguments just go right over their heads.  Why not admit that you prefer Hillary and quit trying to pretend that you don't like her?  You aren't going to fool anybody with your grousing.

The argument is that they don't like either candidate.  But there is a clear choice.  These aren't cookie cutter cutouts of each other.  They are quite different and represent different policy choices.  If you won't support Trump, then you must like Hillary's policy choices better.  Otherwise, your behavior doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Either you are going to pout your way to defeat, or you are going to get over it and get onboard.

You don't avoid a President Hillary unless you get on the ball and help to beat her.  The primaries are over.  Trump is the candidate.

Brexit: The Electoral Defeat Of Globalism – Dick Morris TV: Lunch Alert!

Popularity doesn't make it right ( repost from another title )

Note:

This is a repost of the comparison between Aesop's fable of the town rat and city rat; and how it compares to the ruling class and the country class.

I would add that the ruling class are globalists.  They are also neo cons.  Thus, there's really not much difference between Republicans and Democrats.  The real difference is that now somebody wishes to challenge the globalists.  Naturally, the globalists, with all their levers of power, will try to destroy Trump.

Trump is the people's choice to be the GOP nominee.  The globalists will join together, from both "parties", to attempt to deny him any success at all.

I hope that helps in understanding who these people are, and why people should be suspicious of them.  They do not wish our country ( NOR THE PEOPLE IN IT) well.

the original post follows immediately...

It is amusing to compare that Aesop fable to the ruling class and the country class that Codevilla wrote about.  The ruling class controls the money.  The country class would simply like the country to succeed, but the ruling class isn't interested in what the country class wants.

You can also see the comparison with Hank Williams Jr.'s song A country boy can survive.

Town-rat country-rat has a long history.

Update:

This fits in with my series about going off the grid, but I won't make it a part of the series because I have a post on it early on in the series.

comment:

It is a fairly even handed assessment of Trump's positions.

I don't believe that making better deals is a panacea, but I do believe that they have made some bad deals, and it certainly wouldn't hurt to look closely at all of them.

These globalists don't give a rat's rear end about the people in this country.  I think you can disregard their criticisms of Trump.

Interesting history

There was at one time, a political interest in synthetic fuels.  But the interest faded.  Perhaps it faded because it really wasn't economical.

It is possible to produce gasoline indirectly from nothing more than sea water and plenty of energy.  How?

The seawater would provide carbon dioxide and water.  These two compounds are the same ones that plant life uses to make hydrocarbons.  We don't think of them as hydrocarbons, because hydrocarbons are associated with crude oil.  We think of plant life as producing carbohydrates instead of hydrocarbons.  But for all intents and purposes, it is pretty much the same thing.  It is a question of semantics, not chemistry.

Anyway, as the article points out, the Germans made their own gasoline from coal.  It is relatively easy to make methanol from coal, even the ancients could do that.  A little more chemistry needs to be done to get from methanol to gasoline.   Modern days, there has been a development of a process that can now produce gasoline from natural gas.  It would seem an easy step then, to go from methanol to gasoline.

What's the connection with seawater?  I recall reading about a process that could produce methanol from seawater with the assist of energy from a nuke plant.  Nuke plants aren't necessarily cheaper  than coal, but if you use molten-salt reactors, your energy source would be cheaper than coal.  The production of methanol should be much cheaper than with conventional nuclear reactor energy.  I have a hunch that the gasoline produced in this way would be competitively priced with gasoline from fossil fuels.

If I am right, that could be a killer app for molten-salt reactors.

China to Mars by 2020?

Not a manned mission, it seems.  They want to get there unmanned, and land a rover.  The article said that the USA's 70's era Viking spacecraft was a rover, but it was not.

The article went on to say that it is "breakthrough" type of rocket.  Only a breakthrough for the Chinese.  It is a simple design that has been around for decades.

When somebody makes a nuclear thermal upper stage with a high ISP, it may be time to be impressed.  The US did this during the Apollo era, but never launched it.

The advantage of a higher ISP is that more payload to be placed into orbit per launch.  You're going to need a lot of stuff to sustain the astronauts for such a long journey.

We can get to Mars, but it will take a sustained effort to do so.  Obama canceled the USA effort early in his presidency.

Van to RV new idea

Prev  Next

This post will go into the Construction sub-series of the off-the-grid main series of posts.  These posts can be accessed from a table of contents and watched individually or in series from beginning to end.

The new idea is to install a sink and grease trap into the van.  It should not be too big or crowded.  I could still reuse the computer desk with a hole cut out and emplace the sink into that hole.  The grease trap will take the water from the sink and filter out the fats, oil, and grease (FOG).  Another tank will capture the water coming from the grease trap.  This water will be further treated in order to fully recycle it.  That treatment could include filtering and reverse osmosis.

In my water experiments, I was able to take very bad water and make it run clear.  However, it still needed treatment, so I figure a couple more treatments, like a UV light device that will kill pathogens and then the reverse osmosis to get rid of the ions and salts.   Thusly, the output of the grease trap will go into my own home made filter, and the output of that will go into the reverse osmosis treatment.

After removing all black water from the water flows, and reclaiming all the water possible from all water sources, I figure I should be in compliance with the laws as well as having a superior system for water handling.

As for building a cabin:  Why?  I think a carport could do the trick.  Enclose the carport on one side with Lexan for the winter months.  The other side will be enclosed but with plywood.

This may be an idea that could work.  More fine tuning may be necessary, however.
